All our books have been incorporated into an area in the morning room. Browsers will find tea resource books, cookbooks, tea party information, and books on tea etiquette. We are especially delighted to once again feature the Tea Shop Mysteries by Laura Childs; a must read for tea lovers.

Recently, 5th graders from William Winchester Elementary School came to the inn to tour the home of the town's founder, William Winchester. The children learned about the history of the home and the surrounding area by Mary Ann Mallek, toured the home, and were then treated to snacks and tea.
Ms. Mallek is one of our servers and has done extensive research about the Winchester family and their home.

Mystery at the Winchester Inn... Nearly 100 people attended our Mystery Tea including an eighth generation descendent of the Winchester family, Mr. Richard Shaw. Guests dined on recipes re-created from the 18th century created by Lora and her staff. The play was co written by the cast and directed and produced by Marcia Bogash. Cast members included Lydia Winchester, portrayed by Marcia Bogash; Elizabeth Winchester (daughter) portrayed by Lara Strosnider; Hettie (Winchester's servant) portrayed by M.L. Grout; and historian, Christine Vance. Staff member, Mary Ann Mallek, provided much of the historical information of the family and the home. The play will be offered again the last weekend in October. |
